Hamster cageHaving the right cage for your hamster is very important. A well set-up home for your hamster is vital to keep your pet healthy and it will make him living his life with some fun. A good hamster cage has at least a size of 80 cm x 40 cm. It's important that the space between the bars is 1 cm at maximum because otherwise your hamster could leave the cage.
If you're a do-it-yourself type of person we would suggest to you to build a bigger wooden cage (120 cm x 50 cm) by yourself. It's not too expensive and your hamster will absolutely love it.
Besides the size of the hamster cage it's also important to keep the climate in the home of your pet at an optimal level. The temperature should be between 65 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit and humidity should range from 30 to 70 percent.
